We are currently hiring for a full-time Assistant Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, Culinary Manager, or Senior Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic culinary team. This non-exempt position offers a competitive salary range of $23.08 to $30.07 per hour, translating to an annual pay range from approximately $66,008.80 to $86,000.20 based on experience, assuming a 50-hour workweek. This role is integral in supporting the restaurant’s Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager with managing kitchen operations and culinary staff. It involves overseeing food preparation processes, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring food quality and safety. The Assistant Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager plays a key leadership role, responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and developing kitchen personnel. They also manage inventory control and cost efficiency, upholding fiscal responsibility alongside culinary creativity.

The position requires hands-on management in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and the ability to effectively coordinate a team. Responsibilities include supervising production timing, maintaining food cost targets, and ensuring compliance with safety certifications and standards. The role demands proficiency in all kitchen stations, strong communication, and organizational skills, and a commitment to providing a clean, safe, and productive work environment for both team members and guests. Ideal candidates possess at least two years of culinary management experience with proven expertise in preparing prep lists, managing staff, and contributing to culinary excellence within a structured corporate setting. This position also requires occasional driving duties related to catering, supply runs, or marketing, necessitating a valid driver’s license.

Job Requirements

  • 2 plus years of culinary management experience with experience managing and writing prep lists
  • must possess a valid driver’s license to perform occasional duties such as providing shift coverage, meeting liquor license requirements, delivering catering orders, making supply runs, local marketing, attending offsite training and business meetings, and traveling between locations
  • experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • experience managing a team and developing employees for leadership roles
  • experience facilitating and executing training programs
  • effective communication and organizational skills
  • understanding of managing inventory, cost of goods and financial control
  • must be able to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours per shift
  • must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport objects weighing up to 30 lbs repeatedly and lift up to 50 lbs
  • must be able to work in varying temperatures including warm kitchen environments

Job Duties

  • Accountable for operational excellence in the kitchen
  • delegates tasks and gives direction to all kitchen staff

  • selects, orients and continually develops all sous chefs and kitchen staff
  • prepares work schedules for sous chef and kitchen staff
  • preserves safety certification requirements for all kitchen staff
  • supervises and facilitates training for food preparation and menu execution
  • maintains product quality standards
  • manages food costs and inventory control
  • ensures proper timing and production for food orders
  • conducts performance appraisals for sous chefs and kitchen staff
  • enforces dress code standards
  • oversees or completes prep lists and ordering guides
  • completes opening and closing checklists
  • manages maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment and facility
  • proficiently works all kitchen stations
  • provides a clean and safe environment for team members and guests
