The Assistant Banquet/Event Services Manager is responsible for managing event setups, service flow, and breakdowns according to Banquet Event Order (BEO) specifications. This includes coordinating with culinary teams, audiovisual staff, and other departments to ensure smooth event operations. Strong leadership skills are essential, as this role involves supervising banquet servers, bartenders, housemen, and support staff. The manager also conducts pre-shift meetings, provides coaching, and manages scheduling and payroll support. Serving as the on-site contact for event planners and hosts, this position demands excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle real-time client requests efficiently.

Job Requirements

- 1–3 years of banquet or event services experience
- ability to work weekends and holidays
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Job Duties
- Oversee all event setups, service flow, and breakdowns according to BEO specifications
- ensure event spaces are prepared accurately, on time, and in alignment with Hyatt Regency Tamaya standards
- monitor event progress, resolve issues quickly, and ensure a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure
- coordinate with culinary, AV, and other departments to maintain smooth operations
- supervise banquet servers, housemen, bartenders, and support staff throughout the event lifecycle
- assist with training, coaching, scheduling, and performance feedback
- lead pre-shift meetings to communicate event details, service expectations, and safety reminders
- serve as the on-site contact for meeting planners, wedding coordinators, and event hosts
- respond promptly to client requests and make real-time adjustments as needed
- maintain a polished, professional presence throughout each event
- assist with inventory control, equipment management, and linen/ware usage
- support labor cost management, payroll, and scheduling
- ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
