The position being offered is a full-time Event Management role based in Scottsdale, Arizona, at The Luxury Collection hotel located at 6000 E Camelback Rd. This is a management-level job with a pay range of $29.81 to $39.90 per hour and eligibility for bonuses. The Event Manager plays a vital role in coordinating, supervising, and ensuring the seamless execution of banquet and event services for guests. This includes communicating detailed event requirements to kitchen and service teams, verifying the readiness and presentation of banquet rooms, overseeing staff shifts, and maintaining high standards for guest satisfaction and event quality. The role also involves scheduling, inventory management, and supporting financial and administrative tasks in partnership with senior management. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership skills in managing team dynamics, ensuring OSHA compliance, and fostering a motivating and collaborative work environment. Exceptional guest service is paramount, as the Event Manager interacts directly with clients, addresses concerns, and ensures events exceed expectations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related field
  • minimum 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • if no formal educational background, at least 3 years of experience in two of the following areas: food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • strong leadership and organizational skills
  • ability to work full time onsite in Scottsdale, Arizona
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem solving, running day-to-day operations, hospitality skills

Job Duties

  • Communicates service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions
  • totals charges for group functions and prepares/presents checks to group contacts for payment
  • verifies banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service
  • verifies proper centerpieces are displayed on every table
  • inspects cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use
  • checks in with guests to verify satisfaction
  • sets tables according to type of event and service standards
  • communicates additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
  • maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
  • supports compliance with brand standards and legal obligations
  • supports and leads shift teams to provide consistent, high quality service
  • coordinates and leads daily stand-up meetings, pre-shift meetings, and pre and post-meal briefings
  • communicates performance expectations and trains staff in processes
  • assists more senior managers in completion of financial and administrative duties
  • strives to continually improve guest/event and employee satisfaction and maximize financial performance
