Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
- minimum 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
- or at least 3 years of experience in two of the following areas of hospitality including food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
- ability to manage event operations and lead teams
- knowledge of event service standards and compliance
- ability to communicate service needs and manage inventories
- strong problem solving and scheduling skills
- familiarity with OSHA regulations
- customer service orientation
- leadership and training capabilities
- commitment to brand standards and guest satisfaction
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field
- 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
- or 3 years of hospitality experience in two of the following areas: food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping
- experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem solving, day-to-day hospitality operations
- ability to lead teams and communicate effectively
- strong organizational skills
- knowledge of OSHA regulations
- experience with event and banquet service standards
Job Duties
- Communicates service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions
- totals charges for group functions and prepares and presents checks for payment
- verifies banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks readiness for service
- inspects cleanliness and presentation of china, glass, and silverware
- sets tables according to event and service standards
- communicates additional meal and dietary requirements to the kitchen
- maintains cleanliness of work areas
- supports compliance with brand standards and legal obligations
- leads and supports shift teams with daily meetings and briefings
- communicates performance expectations and trains staff
- assists in financial and administrative duties
- manages inventory and orders supplies
- schedules banquet and event service staff
- guides banquet beverage cost control
- supports event technology team
- coordinates with event planning for event delivery
- verifies OSHA regulation knowledge
- fosters motivation and teamwork
- participates in department meetings
- manages guest complaints and feedback
- coaches and mentors staff
- assists with performance appraisals
- supports training and hiring
- ensures shift coverage and productivity goals are met
