As an organization, it is deeply invested in the continuous education and professional growth of its employees, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills to deliver top-notch care.
Currently, The Elmhurst Healthcare is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing and Staff Development (ADON/SDC) to enhance its leadership team. This pivotal role is designed for a motivated Registered Nurse who is ready to take on new challenges and contribute significantly to the nursing department's success. The ADON/SDC will assist the Director of Nursing Services in overseeing day-to-day nursing operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the nursing services department. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in both administrative and educational functions, allowing the selected candidate to shape nursing policies, coordinate staff training, and support the delivery of superior resident care.
The responsibilities for this role include the development and periodic updating of nursing policies and procedures, providing general orientation and mandatory in-services for nursing staff, and facilitating ongoing education to meet regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring expertise from previous experience in hospitals, long-term care facilities, or similar healthcare environments, with a preference for skilled nursing knowledge. Strong communication skills, educational capabilities, and computer proficiency are essential for success in this role. Additionally, the position supports career advancement through opportunities for ongoing learning and development, making it a perfect fit for nurses seeking to expand their leadership skills and impact within a trusted healthcare institution.
