The role of Assistant Director of Housekeeping at Montage International is a key leadership position within the hotel operations team. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferably bachelor's degree
- Minimum three years experience in housekeeping in an upscale hotel
- Basic computational skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of Opera software preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to perform budgetary analysis
- Understanding of housekeeping service techniques
- Ability to manage cost controls and manpower
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, stretch, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred
- Three plus years of housekeeping experience in an upscale hotel
- Basic computational ability
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Preferably experience with Opera
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Budgetary analysis capabilities
- Knowledge of housekeeping service techniques and cost controls including manpower, productivity, and expenses
Job Duties
- Focus on long term vision and direction of the housekeeping department including implementing improvements and projects
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure hotel cleanliness and maintenance standards
- Coordinate department activities with other departments to improve communication and guest satisfaction
- Ensure proper maintenance and usage of all equipment
- Follow up on maintenance requests related to guest rooms and departmental equipment
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning of the department
- Monitor consumption and order replacement of guest and cleaning supplies and report discrepancies
- Assist with monthly inventory
- Fill in for room attendants and floor supervisors as needed
- Manage selection, training and development of associates to maximize productivity and satisfaction
- Provide seamless employee relations with contracted associates ensuring proper training and integration
- Establish and maintain safe working conditions
- Act on assignments from the Director of Housekeeping
- Create appropriate relationships with all levels of hotel associates
