Job Description
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to mobilizing people and resources to drive research for a cure for multiple sclerosis (MS) and to support everyone affected by the disease. By funding cutting-edge research, advocating for important policy changes, providing professional education, collaborating with MS organizations globally, and delivering supportive programs and services, the Society helps those living with MS and their families move their lives forward with hope and resilience. The organization works closely with volunteers and staff, fostering meaningful engagement through effective communication and feedback to enhance growth and collective learning. This impactful organization operates with a mission to ultimately end MS, making it a compelling choice for professionals passionate about philanthropy, healthcare advocacy, and community empowerment.
Currently, the National MS Society is seeking an Assistant Director, Signature Events, to join their growing team in the West Region, specifically supporting the New Mexico-Arizona-Nevada Chapter. This market-based role primarily focuses on leading fundraising efforts for two of the Society's major signature events: Dinner of Champions in Las Vegas and Dinner of Champions in Phoenix. Together, these events generate more than $1 million annually to support the Society's mission – a testament to their significance within the organization.
This position is about much more than just event planning. It involves building strategic partnerships with influential volunteer leaders, corporate executives, philanthropists, and advocates to create transformative fundraising opportunities. The Assistant Director will drive sponsorship revenue, cultivate donor relationships, and ensure that each fundraising experience is exceptional and aligned with the Society’s brand and standards. This role requires a mix of strategic planning, revenue growth leadership, volunteer engagement, and execution of world-class fundraising events.
Being based in the Las Vegas, NV area is preferred, as the role demands up to 50% travel to attend meetings, events, and community interactions in person, though some work may be conducted remotely. The position offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $69,000 per year, commensurate with experience and location. Employees will also benefit from a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, paid holidays, a 401k plan with employer match, commuter benefits, and extensive health and welfare options such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and access to mental health resources.
The Assistant Director, Signature Events, plays a critical role in shaping the future of the Society’s fundraising efforts in the West Region. The successful candidate will be energized by ambitious fundraising goals, experienced in nonprofit fundraising or related fields, and skilled in building credible relationships that foster philanthropy. This role offers significant impact potential in helping the National MS Society move closer to eradicating multiple sclerosis and improving the lives of those battling this chronic disease. The Society values diversity, inclusion, and career development, providing clear advancement opportunities within a collaborative, mission-driven work environment.
