Job Description
Starwood Hotels is a prestigious luxury hotel brand management company founded in 2006 by Barry Sternlicht and affiliated with the global private investment firm Starwood Capital Group. The company is deeply mission-driven, grounded in a purpose that prioritizes creating meaningful experiences for guests, fostering community with like-minded travelers, and protecting the environment. Starwood Hotels takes pride in sustaining an empowered, inclusive, and diverse workforce that values collaboration, stellar service, and respect for nature. These core values form the basis of the company culture and define the exceptional standards upheld across all their properties worldwide.
At Starwood Hotels, life is centered around creating beautiful experiences, and no one understands this better than the Food & Beverage teams. The company recognizes the power of thoughtful ingredients and extraordinary people working together to deliver exceptional and memorable dining experiences. Their commitment to quality, innovation, and guest satisfaction drives every aspect of their food and beverage operations.
The role of Assistant Director of Food and Beverage is integral to this vision. Starwood Hotels is seeking an experienced and passionate leader who will champion the company’s values and elevate its food and beverage offerings to new heights. This role requires a dynamic individual who excels at motivating and mentoring teams, setting and surpassing operational standards, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. As an Assistant Director, you will be a people magnet, someone skilled in anticipating challenges and crafting quick, effective solutions. The role also demands hands-on leadership, with a readiness to work alongside your team in fast-paced, high-volume environments to achieve outstanding outcomes.
Ideal candidates will bring a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in food and beverage operations, preferably within upscale, high-volume settings. They must have at least 4 years managing operations generating $20 million or more in revenue, with prior experience opening restaurants or hotels considered a strong advantage. Academic credentials such as a post-secondary diploma or degree will be highly regarded. Successful candidates will exhibit exemplary leadership qualities, combined with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Flexibility is paramount, given the demands of running a 24-hour operation to cater to ever-evolving guest needs.
The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000, reflective of the responsibility and expertise required. Starwood Hotels is committed to supporting all team members by fostering an inclusive work environment that encourages growth, innovation, and success. Joining Starwood Hotels means becoming part of a team that not only values high performance but also deeply cares for its people and environment. If you are ready to grow your career in a flourishing luxury hospitality brand where your leadership can make a lasting impact, this opportunity is for you.
