The Assistant Director of Finance at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Jose plays a crucial role in assisting with the direction and administration of all hotel financial operations. This on-property position involves supporting the execution of financial strategies aligned with the hotel's goals, optimizing profitability, and streamlining financial processes. The Assistant Director will be responsible for managing financial planning and budgeting, including the preparation of annual depreciation schedules, as well as providing insightful financial analysis to hotel leadership and ownership. Overseeing key financial functions such as Accounts Receivable, Credit, and the Night Audit, this role ensures compliance with internal controls and financial policies. Additionally, the Assistant Director leads the preparation and review of monthly financial statements, verifies the accuracy of cash receipt coding, and supports internal audits to maintain transparency and compliance. A significant aspect of the role is inspiring and developing the finance team through supervision, coaching, and professional development, fostering a high-performance culture. The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $95,000 yearly, with a shift pattern primarily during morning hours and occasional requirements on weekends and holidays. Candidates ideally have 3 to 5 years of hotel finance management experience and are familiar with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, payroll, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
- 3 to 5 years of hotel finance management experience
- Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and payroll
- Ability to work morning shifts with occasional weekends and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency with financial software and tools
Job Qualifications

Job Duties

- Provide financial insights by reviewing performance, reconciling accounts, and preparing leadership recommendations
- Direct financial operations overseeing Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Night Audit functions ensuring policy adherence
- Oversee financial reporting by leading preparation and review of monthly statements and supporting internal audits
- Monitor and approve financial transactions such as ledger reconciliations, tax filings, and payroll
