The role of Assistant Director of Finance - Productivity & Financial Analysis at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is a vital leadership position within the hotel's finance department. This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing the financial health and operational efficiency of the hotel. Collaborating closely with the Director of Finance and other operational leaders, the Assistant Director of Finance focuses on driving superior financial performance, optimizing labor productivity, and strengthening analytical capabilities across the hotel. The incumbent oversees critical accounting operations ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting while providing insightful analysis that supports strategic business decisions.

With a salary range of $93,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience, this full-time position involves preparing, reviewing, and interpreting monthly financial statements and variance analyses against budgets and forecasts. The Assistant Director plays a key role in the budgeting and forecasting process and supports the annual financial planning cycle. They develop and maintain performance dashboards that track key indicators such as RevPAR, GOP, labor productivity, and cost ratios to aid operational teams in making data-driven choices.

A significant part of this role involves labor optimization and working with department leaders to analyze staffing, scheduling, and productivity to enhance cost management without compromising guest satisfaction. The role also encompasses maintaining stringent internal controls, compliance with SOX and Hyatt policies, supporting audits, and ensuring robust documentation to uphold financial integrity. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
  • 2 - 4+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience preferably in hospitality
  • Strong knowledge of hotel financial systems such as Opera Oracle POS PMS platforms
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Proven leadership and team development experience
  • Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence non-financial leaders
  • High level of integrity and ability to manage confidential information

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements ensuring accuracy completeness and compliance with Hyatt standards
  • Lead variance analysis revenue labor expenses vs budget forecast and prior year providing clear business insights and recommendations
  • Support financial reviews and presentations with ownership leadership teams
  • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards such as RevPAR GOP labor productivity cost ratios to support operational decision-making
  • Oversee hotel productivity initiatives focusing on labor optimization and operational efficiency
  • Partner with department leaders to analyze staffing models scheduling and productivity metrics
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement without compromising guest experience
  • Monitor departmental expenses and enforce accountability to financial targets
  • Oversee general ledger activities journal entries accruals and reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes and reporting
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain oversight of AP AR and cash management functions
  • Support the annual budget and monthly forecast processes
  • Build financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic planning
  • Facilitate collaboration with department heads to align operational goals with financial targets
  • Ensure compliance with Hyatt policies SOX requirements and local regulations
  • Maintain strong internal controls and audit-ready documentation
  • Support internal and external audits including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor requests
  • Supervise and develop accounting colleagues including training coaching and performance management
  • Serve as a strategic partner to operations translating financial data into actionable insights
  • Foster a culture of accountability continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration
  • Support system optimization and process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency
