Job Description

Le Moyne College, located in Syracuse, N.Y., is a distinguished independent institution founded by the Jesuits in 1946. The college offers a values-based, comprehensive academic program designed to foster intellectual excellence and prepare students for lives of leadership and service. As a nationally acclaimed college of liberal arts and sciences, Le Moyne attracts students from across the United States and abroad. The college's mission emphasizes the holistic education of the individual, rooted in the Catholic and Jesuit tradition, striving for academic excellence and the education of the whole person. This approach encourages the search for meaning and value as integral components of intellectual life, while preparing members of the community for leadership and service to promote a more just society. Le Moyne is committed to advancing diversity and inclusiveness, seeking scholars and professionals who contribute innovation, creativity, and diverse perspectives to its community.

The Assistant Director for Alumni and Donor Relations at Le Moyne College plays an essential role in the planning and execution of signature alumni and donor events. This full-time role, offering a competitive wage range of $25.00 to $27.50 per hour, is responsible for managing logistics primarily for Reunion Weekend and annual fundraising dinners. The position also involves supporting athletic alumni programming, managing a portfolio of corporate and individual prospects, and overseeing the daily administrative functions of the Alumni and Donor Relations team. The Assistant Director must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and vendors. This role directly supports the college's mission by strengthening alumni and donor engagement, fostering long-lasting relationships that inspire philanthropy and uphold Le Moyne's Jesuit values of service, excellence, and care for the whole person (cura personalis).

Key responsibilities include serving as the lead project manager for Reunion Weekends, coordinating with various departments such as Advancement, Facilities, and Catering to deliver high-quality events, and assisting with athletic alumni events and other engagement activities. The Assistant Director also carries a small portfolio of prospects, contributing to donor recognition activities and supporting communication efforts, including event promotions and website updates. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional travel to ensure the success of events. Moreover, the role demands adherence to Le Moyne's mission-based competencies—collaboration, communication, diversity, integrity, leadership, and service—and promotes a culture of security, professionalism, and continuous professional development. The college also offers comprehensive benefits including retirement contributions, tuition coverage, health insurance options, and generous time-off packages, emphasizing work-life balance with a 35-hour work week.

This position embodies Le Moyne College's dedication to fostering a diverse community where all employees model excellence in their professional and interpersonal interactions, uphold institutional values, and contribute meaningfully to a more just society. The Assistant Director for Alumni and Donor Relations is integral in maintaining strong connections and advancing the college’s philanthropic mission through exceptional event management and engagement strategies.
