Buc-ee's is currently seeking an Assistant Food Service Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is perfect for professionals with experience in high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environments who thrive on delivering exceptional service and managing operational excellence. The Assistant Food Service Manager will play a critical role in managing every aspect of the food service department. This includes overseeing product offerings such as jerky, smoked meats, sausage, BBQ, bakery items, sandwiches, grab-and-go meals, tacos, burritos, and hot dogs. The role requires a hands-on approach to operations, from solving customer concerns promptly and professionally, to ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local foodservice and employment laws. This position demands a thorough understanding of kitchen equipment and appliance use, such as floor mixers, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers.
Leadership is a prime aspect of this role. The Assistant Food Service Manager will manage food service employees, safeguard quality standards, and guarantee a positive and efficient customer service experience. They are also responsible for accurate completion of food service operating reports and implementation of safety rules and regulations. Furthermore, managers in this role are expected to foster professional interaction among team members and customers, help develop employees, and maintain an environment that supports growth and excellence.
Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of relevant food service experience and ideally hold a bachelor’s degree. They should be proficient in food planning, preparation, sanitation, and food handling, as well as have practical knowledge of MS Office tools like Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with various POS and transaction devices such as kiosks, printers, tickets, and touchscreens is necessary, alongside acquiring and maintaining appropriate food service certifications. The position requires physical capability such as prolonged standing, bending, lifting heavy loads up to 40 lbs or more, and the flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts that may alternate between day and night. Relocation may be necessary.

Job Requirements
- Restaurant, retail or management experience preferred
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant food service experience preferred
- Proficiency in food planning and preparation, sanitation, and food handling preferred
- Proficient skill level in MS Office including Excel and Outlook
- Experienced in various POS and transaction devices such as kiosks, printers, tickets, touchscreens
- Acquire and maintain food service certifications
- May require relocation
- Work weekends and holidays
- Work a rotating schedule alternating between day and night
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Prolonged walking or standing for 8 hours or more
