The role of Assistant Food Service Manager at Buc-ee's is integral to maintaining the high standards the company is known for. This includes overseeing various product lines such as jerky, smoked meats, sausage, BBQ, bakery items, sandwiches, grab-and-go meals, tacos, burritos, and hot dogs.

You'll lead by example, ensuring that the department maintains clean and safe environments while also managing employee development and team dynamics. Job Requirements
- Restaurant, retail or management experience preferred
- Work weekends and holidays
- Work a rotating schedule alternating between day and night shifts
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Prolonged walking or standing for 8 hours or more
- Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, balancing, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs or more
- May require relocation
- Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant food service experience preferred
- Proficiency in food planning, preparation, sanitation, and food handling preferred
- Proficient skill level in MS Office including Excel and Outlook
- Experience with POS and transaction devices such as kiosks, printers, tickets, and touch screens
- Ability to acquire and maintain food service certifications
Job Duties
- Perform duties and responsibilities of the Food Service Manager in their absence or upon their discretion
- Manage product offerings including jerky, smoked meats, sausage, BBQ, bakery, sandwiches, grab and go, tacos, burritos, and hot dogs
- Solve customer issues quickly in a friendly and professional manner
- Understand and apply federal, state, and local foodservice laws and general employment matters
- Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment such as floor mixers, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers
- Manage food service employees and protect quality
- Provide excellent customer service
- Assure accurate completion of foodservice operating reports
- Ensure safety rules and regulations are implemented and followed
- Professionally interact with team members and customers
