The company is currently seeking an Assistant Food Service Manager to join its dynamic team. As an Assistant Food Service Manager, you will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities involving the oversight of food preparation areas such as Jerky, Smoked Meats, Sausage, BBQ, Bakery, Sandwiches, Grab and Go items, Tacos, Burritos, and Hot Dogs. You will be expected to maintain high quality standards, supervise and develop food service employees, ensure compliance with all food safety and regulatory standards, and provide exceptional customer service. Your leadership will be key to resolving customer concerns in a prompt and professional manner, making sure the department operates smoothly while following federal, state, and local laws related to foodservice and employment.

The role requires a proactive approach and exemplary management skills, including the proper use of various kitchen equipment like mixers, slicers, ovens, fryers, and knives. You will also be responsible for completing various operational reports accurately and ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed. This position demands an individual who can interact professionally and positively with both team members and customers, demonstrating a strong commitment to the company’s values. Additionally, the role requires flexibility with scheduling, including work on weekends and holidays, as well as a willingness to perform physically demanding tasks such as prolonged standing, bending, climbing, and lifting heavy objects.

Job Requirements

  • restaurant, retail or management experience preferred
  • bachelor degree preferred
  • minimum of 5 years of relevant food service experience preferred
  • proficiency in food planning and preparation, sanitation, and food handling preferred
  • proficient skill level in MS Office which includes but not limited to Excel and Outlook
  • experienced in various POS and transaction devices such as Kiosks, Printers, Tickets, Touch Screens
  • acquire and maintain food service certifications
  • may require relocation
  • work weekends and holidays
  • work a rotating schedule that may alternate between day and night
  • regular and prompt attendance
  • prolonged walking or standing for 8 hours or more
  • frequent bending, climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, balancing, pushing, pulling such as ice cart with 50 or more 20lb bags of ice, and lifting product or material weighing 40 lbs or more

Job Duties

  • perform duties and responsibilities of the Food Service Manager in their absence or upon their discretion
  • manage the product offerings which includes but is not limited to Jerky, Smoked Meats, Sausage, BBQ, Bakery, Sandwiches, Grab and Go, Tacos, Burritos, Hot Dogs
  • solve customer issues quickly in a friendly and professional manner
  • understand and apply federal, state, and local laws in regards to foodservice and general employment matters
  • ensure proper use of a wide variety of kitchen equipment and appliances including floor mixer, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers
  • manage food service employees, protect quality, and provide customer service
  • assure accurate completion of various foodservice operating reports
  • assure safety rules and regulations are implemented and followed
  • professionally interact with team members and customers
  • employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
