Job Description

Dierbergs is a well-established grocery store chain known for its commitment to quality, customer service, and community involvement. With a rich history of financial success and an excellent reputation in the regions it serves, Dierbergs offers a friendly and family-like atmosphere where employees are treated with respect and given opportunities to grow. The company's culture emphasizes connection, curiosity, courage, caring, people-centric values, contribution, cultivation, and authenticity, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for all team members. Dierbergs’ dedication to excellence in service and product quality makes it a trusted name among shoppers, and its employee-centered approach fosters a workplace where every individual can thrive.

The role of Assistant Deli/Seafood Manager at Dierbergs is an exciting entry-level management position designed for individuals passionate about food service and customer satisfaction. This position plays a crucial part in the smooth and efficient operation of the deli and seafood departments. As an Assistant Manager, you will work collaboratively with the Deli/Seafood Management Team to maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and profitability across the entire department. The role involves preparing and selling signature deli and seafood products, including rotisserie and smoked meats, various cheeses, and a wide selection of seafood offerings.

In addition to food preparation and sales, you will have a leadership role in training, developing, and motivating associates to create a cohesive and high-performing team. Responsibility for ordering and inventory management is also part of the position, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and waste is minimized. A key part of your duties will involve maintaining cleanliness and adhering to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring a safe environment for both staff and customers. Providing friendly and knowledgeable service to every customer is essential, promoting customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Dierbergs values work-life balance, offering flexible scheduling with no late-night shifts, as most deli and seafood departments close by 8 pm. This role offers a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal time. Furthermore, there's a clear career path for advancement from Assistant Manager to Department Manager or broader store management roles, providing career growth opportunities for motivated individuals.

Working at Dierbergs means becoming part of an organization that not only values your contributions but also invests in your well-being through comprehensive health and retirement benefits, paid time off, and various perks. With weekly pay, associate-only savings, free products, bonus points, sweepstakes, an Associate Perks Program, and discounts at Starbucks kiosks within select locations, being a part of the Dierbergs team is rewarding on many levels. If you are ready to join a vibrant team that encourages you to be connected, curious, courageous, caring, people-centric, a contributor, a cultivator, and true to yourself, then this position is the perfect place to start or continue your career in food service management.
