Job Description

Dierbergs is a well-established retail grocery chain known for its commitment to quality, community involvement, and a strong customer-focused culture. Founded over several decades ago, Dierbergs has built a reputation as a trusted destination for fresh, high-quality foods, excellent customer service, and a family-like workplace environment. The company operates numerous stores across several states, each featuring departments like Deli and Seafood that offer a wide range of fresh and signature culinary products. Dierbergs is proud to provide its employees with a work atmosphere that values connections, continuous growth, and mutual respect. This approach has enabled the company to maintain financial success and a positive standing within the community.

As an Assistant Deli/Seafood Manager at Dierbergs, you will join an entry-level management team dedicated to upholding the highest standards in food quality, safety, and customer service. Your role is crucial in maintaining smooth daily operations and ensuring that the department consistently delivers exceptional products and experiences to customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a fast-paced culinary environment, where you will assist in managing deli and seafood offerings, including preparing and selling signature foods, rotisserie and smoked meats, various seafood options, and sliced cheeses.

You will work closely with the Deli/Seafood Management Team to oversee inventory, ordering, training, and motivating associates to foster a high-performing and cohesive team. Upholding food safety and sanitation is a top priority in your responsibilities, ensuring that all protocols and procedures meet or exceed industry standards. Flexibility and multitasking are key components of this role, as you will adapt to a variety of tasks and shifts that accommodate the department’s operational needs. The work schedule is designed with work-life balance in mind, with most deli and seafood departments closing by 8 pm, ensuring no late-night shifts.

Dierbergs values its employees’ growth and advancement, offering a clear career path from Assistant Manager roles to Department Manager or broader store management positions. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food service, leadership, and delivering excellent customer experiences in a supportive and engaging environment. The company also places strong emphasis on core BEhaviors, including being connected, curious, courageous, caring, people centric, a contributor, and a cultivator, encouraging each team member to bring their authentic self to work. Joining Dierbergs means becoming part of a family that not only values your work but also your personal development and well-being.
