We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of food safety, quality, and taste that guests expect from our establishment. The Assistant Cook will be responsible for inspecting and cleaning food preparation and serving areas to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation protocols. They will manage the freshness of food and ingredients by monitoring stock rotation and quality control measures. Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality keeping track of old and new items and rotating stock
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
  • Weigh measure and mix ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Carve and trim meats such as beef ham pork lamb and seafood for hot service
  • Wash peel and cut vegetables to prepare them for consumption
  • Coordinate and supervise work of kitchen staff
  • Focus on speed quality and an appetite for learning
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and availability to work night shifts and holidays
