BCCS is currently seeking an Assistant Cook to join their Food Services Team at the Elementary Building. This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $20.75 to $22.35, with opportunities for additional pay based on certifications. The Assistant Cook will work under moderate supervision from the Head Cook and the District Nutrition Services Manager. This role requires skilled work in the preparation, cooking, and serving of breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals in accordance with the district-approved menu. The Assistant Cook is responsible for maintaining kitchen cleanliness, operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, and providing excellent service in a culturally responsive and welcoming environment.

The position demands a commitment to food safety and sanitation standards as well as accurate record keeping regarding food production and supplies. The Assistant Cook plays a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs of students while fostering a positive and safe atmosphere in the cafeteria. Candidates must be prepared to work Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm, with responsibilities that include cashier duties, food preparation, stocking, and even acting as a Baker in their absence.
