Job Requirements

  • a year of previous cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume catering environment
  • a culinary degree or certification in cooking is desired
  • a high school diploma or equivalent
  • capacity to achieve and uphold Transport Canada Security Clearance
  • competence in organizing workloads and managing time effectively
  • competence in adhering to specified work schedules including mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, public holidays, and overtime hours
  • capable of safely managing objects up to 50 pounds by lifting, pushing, pulling, or relocating

Job Qualifications

  • a culinary degree or certification in cooking is desired, with a high school diploma or equivalent being a necessary qualification
  • a year of previous cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume catering environment
  • red seal certification is a nice-to-have qualification but it is not essential
  • capacity to achieve and uphold Transport Canada Security Clearance
  • competent in organizing workloads and managing time effectively amidst pressing demands
  • competence in adhering to specified work schedules, which may entail working during different time slots such as mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, public holidays, and overtime hours
  • capable of safely managing objects up to 50 pounds by lifting, pushing, pulling, or relocating

Job Duties

  • assemble hot and cold dishes according to recipe specifications, serving sizes, and passenger requests
  • use a range of kitchen machinery like ovens, fryers, steam kettles, charbroilers, flat top stoves, and gas ranges, taking necessary safety precautions
  • optimize the use of raw ingredients to minimize wastage and promote resource efficiency
  • sustain high standards in the consistency of food quality and presentation
  • abide by all safety, cleanliness, and food preparation procedures as detailed in company policies and customer guidelines
  • expertly allocate time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced culinary setting
  • facilitate collaboration with team members and different departments to ensure operational harmony
  • fulfill extra responsibilities as assigned by supervisors to strengthen kitchen operations
