Job Description
Greystar is a leading, fully integrated global real estate platform that specializes in property management, investment management, development, and construction services with a focus on institutional-quality rental housing. Established in 1993 and headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Greystar has grown to be the largest operator of apartments in the United States. The company manages and operates over $300 billion of real estate assets across more than 265 markets worldwide, with offices spanning North America, Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Managing over one million units and beds globally, Greystar demonstrates a powerful presence and commitment to excellence in the residential rental real estate sector. The organization’s values emphasize world-class service, innovation, and fostering genuine relationships with residents, employees, clients, and business partners.
This specific opportunity is for an Assistant Community Manager at Kendall Ridge within the Greystar portfolio. The Assistant Community Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the on-site Community Manager by overseeing and managing both financial and operational facets of the community. Key responsibilities include executing accounting and bookkeeping tasks such as preparing monthly close-outs, processing invoices and payments, collecting rent and fees, completing bank deposits, and reconciling accounts. The role also requires using property management software (such as Yardi or OneSite) to accurately record and track all financial transactions related to the community.
Additionally, the Assistant Community Manager works closely with the leasing team to assist in apartment tours, both virtually and in-person, and supports marketing initiatives to enhance resident engagement by organizing social events that adhere to safety guidelines. This role demands a strong customer service orientation to respond to residents’ concerns effectively and promptly, acting as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the Community Manager. Given the significant responsibilities related to financial management and resident relations, this position requires keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a professional demeanor. The salary for this role ranges from $26.75 to $28.75 per hour, with potential eligibility for various bonus programs based on individual and company performance.
Greystar fosters a workplace culture focused on inclusivity, diversity, and career development. Employees benefit from extensive training programs and opportunities for growth. The company offers a competitive compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, generous paid time off, employee housing discounts at Greystar-managed communities, and a variety of additional perks designed to support employee well-being and work-life balance. Greystar is committed to equal opportunity employment, ensuring an environment free from discrimination and welcoming qualified applicants from all backgrounds.
Overall, the Assistant Community Manager position at Greystar offers a rewarding career path for individuals passionate about property management and resident satisfaction, within a supportive organization that values professional growth, community engagement, and operational excellence.
