Spokane International Airport (GEG) serves as a vital hub connecting travelers to and from the Pacific Northwest region. Operated in conjunction with various service providers, the airport is dedicated to ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for millions of passengers annually. Among those providers is SSP America, a global leader in airport food and retail services, which operates the commissary at Spokane International Airport. SSP America prides itself on delivering quality food service solutions in dynamic, high-volume environments, including airports, train stations, and other travel locations.

The role available is that of an Assistant Commissary Manager based at Spokane International Airport, reporting to the Commissary Manager and playing a crucial part in the daily operations of the airport's food service production and warehouse activities. This is a full-time, hourly role with a competitive salary of $65,000 per year, based on a 50-hour workweek, and includes eligibility for bonuses. The position offers an exciting chance for experienced food service professionals who are passionate about leadership, food safety, and efficiency in a bustling airport environment.

As an Assistant Commissary Manager, the incumbent will oversee all warehouse and production kitchen activities to ensure that high standards of food safety and quality are consistently maintained. This role requires a keen eye for detail and an ability to lead a diverse team effectively. You will be responsible for managing inventory controls, overseeing food production schedules, setting up par lists and stock controls, and ensuring processes and systems are both efficient and effective. Forecasting and budgeting will be part of your remit, alongside office management duties that will support smooth operational workflows.

This position demands strong interpersonal skills, as the Assistant Commissary Manager will interact with various stakeholders including executives, union representatives, and hourly team members. Problem-solving capabilities are essential to resolve challenges that arise with clients, customers, peers, and direct reports. The successful candidate will be proactive, organized, and able to prioritize activities on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis to meet the operational goals of SSP America at Spokane International Airport.

Joining SSP America presents an opportunity to become part of a global hospitality leader with significant opportunities for career growth and development. SSP America values diversity and inclusion, ensuring that all employment decisions are made equitably. The Assistant Commissary Manager role offers a gateway into an airport environment that is ever-changing, providing both challenges and excitement to those who thrive in dynamic workplaces.

In addition to competitive pay and bonus potential, comprehensive benefits are provided, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic life and AD&D insurance, and an employee assistance program. Voluntary benefits such as accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and pet insurance are also available. Employees benefit from a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, generous paid time off starting at 80 hours per year, six premium paid holidays, paid sick leave, and more. If you have a background in warehouse or commissary management within food service and are ready to take the next step in your career, this role at Spokane International Airport could be an excellent fit for you.
