Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 4 years of relevant experience in pastry production
- at least 2 years of supervisory experience
- strong communication skills in English
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to manage kitchen staff
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties
- must have or be able to obtain necessary work permits or licenses if applicable
Job Qualifications
- ability to communicate, read and write in English fluently and professionally
- 2nd language a plus
- 4 years experience in a high volume/high quality pastry production kitchen
- minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
- banquet and catering pastry training degree preferred
- culinary/pastry training degree preferred but not required
- advanced knowledge of pastries, desserts, sanitation and cost control
- ability to manage all aspects of a pastry operation
- ability to work efficiently within a team environment
- must be able to obtain and maintain any required licensing or active work cards
Job Duties
- support the Executive Chef in all aspects of cost control
- complete inventories and food requisitions
- manage and train kitchen staff
- support the Chef de Parties and cooks if necessary
- supervise the production of pastries and desserts for outlets
- ensure food quality according to department standards
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards
