This position is for an Assistant Chef, a key role within the Griffis Faculty Club's kitchen team. The Assistant Chef will work under direct supervision to assist in the preparation of food necessary for lunch, dinner, and banquet services. The Assistant Chef’s responsibilities are diverse and integral to the successful culinary operations of the club. They include food preparation, the labeling and storage of food items, and troubleshooting service or food preparation issues, escalating them as necessary. Additionally, the role involves oversight of kitchen equipment and facilities to guarantee optimal operation, including coordinating preventative maintenance and repairs or performing minor repairs when qualified. Job Duties
- Ensures the proper set up and maintenance of prep area stations assigned to
- Labels, rotates and stores food products prepared
- Troubleshoots customer service or food preparation issues and escalates as needed
- Ensures that facilities and equipment are in optimal and proper working condition
- Coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs as needed
- May perform minor repairs if qualified and as needed
- May advise on upgrades for performance enhancements
