The role offered is an entry-level management position within the Event Management category, focused on assisting and supporting the banquet department. Located at 201 Waterfront St, National Harbor, Maryland, this full-time management role offers a competitive pay range of $32.69 to $44.23 per hour, with eligibility for bonuses. The position is not remote and demands an on-site presence to facilitate direct interaction with staff and guests. The primary responsibility includes helping lead banquet staff in executing events that meet company standards and client expectations. The role demands a proactive approach to managing departmental inventories, scheduling, and service standards to maximize customer satisfaction and departmental profitability. Candidates will also take part in maintaining sanitation standards, enforcing policies and procedures, and promoting exceptional guest service.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • assist in managing departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment
  • maintain attendance log for banquet employees
  • maintain and enforce established sanitation levels
  • adhere to and reinforce all standards, policies, and procedures
  • ensure employee awareness of event phase portion of Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores
  • order supplies for department including china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment
  • use banquet beverage use records to guide banquet beverage supervisor in controlling liquor costs and managing inventory
  • understand impact of banquet operations on overall event success and manage activities to maximize customer satisfaction
  • assist in scheduling banquet service staff to forecast and service standards while maximizing profits
  • attend and participate in pertinent meetings
  • lead shifts and actively participate in servicing events
  • apply and broaden knowledge of food and wine pairings and event presentation
  • set a positive example for guest relations
  • interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service
  • respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
  • empower employees to provide excellent customer service
