The Assistant Bakery Manager role at Sprouts Farmers Market is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.30 to $24.20, determined based on the applicant's experience and qualifications. In this role, you will work alongside the Bakery Manager to lead the bakery team, ensuring the department runs efficiently and productively. Your responsibilities will include managing inventory, overseeing product quality, assisting in merchandising, and maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience
  • Have two years supervisory experience
  • Be dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
  • Be able to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Be able to stand for extended periods and transfer trays and items up to specified weights and distances
  • Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Maintain Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience
  • Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes, including night, weekends, and holidays
  • Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior, have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers
  • Have good communication skills
  • and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department
  • clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.)
  • Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
  • Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • This role also requires vertically transferring tray up to 5 lbs., from 7" to 64" for up to 10 hours, and vertically/horizontally transferring items up to 40 lbs., from 5" to 36", for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • Monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
  • Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
  • Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
