The role of Assistant Bakery Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market is a full-time position offering an hourly wage range of $17.30 to $24.20 depending on experience and skills. The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bakery department, ensuring high-quality product preparation, merchandising, inventory control, and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include managing and merchandising bakery products for maximum profitability, ordering and inventory oversight, executing proper rotation and display setups, monitoring deliveries for product quality, and enforcing company health and safety standards. The Assistant Bakery Manager also plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service by supervising bakery staff and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery work area. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of two years retail grocery experience
  • Have two years supervisory experience
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Be able to operate bakery equipment and tools such as knives, scales, and pallet jacks
  • Be able to stand for long periods and handle physical demands of the role
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and food handling regulations
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience
  • Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes including night, weekends, and holidays
  • Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior, have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department including cleaning and sanitizing work area
  • Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
  • Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • Monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
  • Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
  • Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
