The role of Assistant Bakery Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market is an exciting opportunity for those passionate about baking and delivering exceptional customer service. This full-time position involves assisting the Bakery Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Bakery Department. The Assistant Bakery Manager plays a key leadership role, managing Bakery Clerks, ensuring product quality, and driving department productivity and profitability. This job requires a hands-on approach to managing bakery inventory, merchandise rotation, display arrangements, and supervising staff performance. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Assistant Bakery Manager is responsible for maintaining high standards of health, safety, and sanitation according to company guidelines.

The pay range for this role is between $19.80 and $27.70 per hour, with compensation dependent on relevant experience and qualifications. Job Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age
Minimum of two years' retail grocery experience
Minimum of two years supervisory experience
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
Good communication skills
Ability to give and take direction
Ability to answer phones and take special orders
Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties
Ability to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Adhere to safety and health regulations
Maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience
Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes including night, weekends, and holidays
Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers
Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment
Be able to answer phones and take special orders
Perform general housekeeping in the department
clean and sanitize work area including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.
Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
Use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
Able to transfer trays and items up to 40 lbs with or without assistance
Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
Monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures
