Job Requirements

  • Be dependable and reliable
  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • perform general housekeeping in the department
  • clean and sanitize work areas
  • ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • ability to vertically transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7" to 64" for up to 10 hours
  • ability to move items up to 40 lbs horizontally and vertically without mechanical assistance
  • adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • have a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience
  • have two years supervisory experience
  • have outgoing and friendly behavior
  • have good communication skills
  • ability to give and take direction
  • ability to interact with customers
  • ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • ability to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
  • knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
  • responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
  • execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
  • ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
  • unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
  • ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of and following these procedures
