Job Requirements
- Be dependable and reliable
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- perform general housekeeping in the department
- clean and sanitize work areas
- ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
- ability to vertically transfer trays up to 5 lbs from 7" to 64" for up to 10 hours
- ability to move items up to 40 lbs horizontally and vertically without mechanical assistance
- adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- have a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience
- have two years supervisory experience
- have outgoing and friendly behavior
- have good communication skills
- ability to give and take direction
- ability to interact with customers
- ability to answer phones and take special orders
- ability to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
- knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
- responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
- execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- monitor in-coming cases for damaged items
- ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
- unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
- ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of and following these procedures
