The Assistant Baker position at Nothing Bundt Cakes is a part-time role with an expected weekly commitment of 15 to 20 hours. Shifts generally fall between the hours of 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. This role is critical in supporting the baking process by adhering to strict recipes, proprietary methods, and food safety standards unique to Nothing Bundt Cakes. The assistant baker works closely with the lead baker and the team to ensure that cakes are prepared, baked, packaged, and labeled correctly and maintained with proper storage techniques. This position requires responsibility, punctuality, maturity, and reliability as it is essential to maintain the high standards associated with the Nothing Bundt Cakes brand.
During the training period and beyond, the pay range for this position is between $13.50 and $15.50 per hour. This compensation reflects the importance of the role and the specialized skills necessary to meet the baking and safety standards of the bakery. The assistant baker must effectively use measuring instruments, commercial mixers, ovens, and other bakery tools to produce cakes that meet Nothing Bundt Cakes’ exacting specifications. Besides baking duties, this role involves maintaining baking and refrigeration logs, adhering to product rotation standards, and diligent packaging and labeling of finished goods to guarantee freshness and quality.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Effectively utilizes measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers and ovens, and other tools to bake cakes
- Accurately prepares raw ingredients and equipment for baking, places cake pans into hot oven and monitors the baking process
- Adheres to the proper packaging, labeling, and storage of baked cakes as well as product rotation standards, and maintains baking and refrigeration logs
- Works well with baker and being apart of a team, seeking someone who is punctual, responsible, mature, and reliable
- Follows strict proprietary recipes, baking methods, and food safety standards
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of baking area
- Assists in inventory management and restocking of baking supplies
