Job Description

Northampton Community College (NCC) is a reputable institution dedicated to transforming student lives through quality education. Established with a focus on providing accessible and comprehensive learning opportunities, NCC serves a diverse student body across multiple campuses. Located in the Lehigh Valley, a region renowned for its high quality of life, the college offers a supportive work environment where staff and faculty collaborate to promote student success and community development. As part of its commitment to inclusivity, NCC actively encourages candidates who can contribute to the diversity of both the college community and curriculum to apply. The college provides competitive compensation packages along with a generous array of benefits for its full-time employees. These benefits include comprehensive medical plans for employees and their families, dental and vision coverage, an 8% retirement contribution upon hire, tuition waivers, generous vacation allowances, paid holidays, and more, showcasing NCC's dedication to employee well-being and professional growth.

The current opportunity is for a full-time position as Manager, Athletic Event Operations & Facilities within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at NCC. This role is critical to the smooth execution of all home athletic events, serving as the primary on-site event administrator. The Manager will oversee all aspects of athletic event scheduling, which involves coordination with opponents, officials, transportation providers, and event staff to ensure successful contests that adhere strictly to NJCAA, Region 19, and Northampton standards. The position also requires hands-on involvement in preparing and maintaining athletic facilities when necessary. Social media management plays a key part in the role, with responsibilities including posting updates before, during, and after events to engage the community and enhance the visibility of NCC’s athletic programs. The Manager must be flexible to work evenings and weekends, and may occasionally travel to regional or national championships, supporting the college’s competitive sports teams.

This role demands strong organizational skills for managing schedules, contracts, travel arrangements, and event boards, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with part-time staff, student workers, officials, and other stakeholders. A thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations relevant to event management and facility compliance is essential. The position reports directly to the Executive Director of Athletics and requires an individual capable of working cooperatively with various departments and aligning activities with the overall mission and goals of Northampton Community College. Successful performance is measured by adherence to mutually agreed-upon objectives, cooperation with the administrative team, and effective execution of event operations and facility management. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional seeking to contribute to collegiate athletics in a dynamic and supportive academic environment while enjoying a competitive benefits package and a vibrant community setting.
