Job Description

Sage Hospitality Group is a forward-thinking hospitality company committed to redefining the hotel experience through creativity, authenticity, and independent thinking. Unlike traditional hospitality companies, Sage emphasizes innovation and individuality, encouraging associates to go beyond conventional norms and explore what hotels could be, rather than adhering to what they should be. This dynamic approach sets Sage apart in the competitive hospitality industry, attracting talented professionals who are smart, calculated, and passionate about elevating guest experiences and operational excellence. Sage Hospitality Group operates a diverse portfolio of hotels, including the upscale Cambria Hotel located in New Orleans, Louisiana, which boasts distinctive dining experiences such as the Cambria Bistro. As an employer, Sage fosters a culture that values associate engagement, empowerment, and development, creating a work environment where team members can grow professionally and personally while contributing to the company's innovative vision.

The General Manager position at the Cambria Hotel in New Orleans is a regular full-time role responsible for overseeing room operations and related areas of the hotel to ensure exceptional guest, employee, corporate, and owner satisfaction. This leadership role carries the significant responsibility of managing both short-term and long-term operational planning to achieve and exceed quality service and financial goals. As the General Manager, you will be a key member of the hotel executive committee, working closely with various departments to inspire and motivate associates across the property, foster a customer-focused and sales-oriented culture, and uphold Sage's commitment to excellence and creativity.

Key responsibilities include managing the division's associates to attract, retain, and motivate talent through hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and performance evaluation. You will develop and manage annual budgets, business and marketing plans, forecasts, and objectives to ensure the hotel's success while implementing company franchise programs and adhering to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Addressing and resolving customer complaints will be a priority to maintain high customer satisfaction and uphold the hotel's quality standards. You will also implement emergency procedures and oversee security management to protect guests, staff, and property assets. Creating a positive work environment that supports personal growth, encourages an empowered workforce, and ensures alignment with Sage's values is essential. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in staff planning and service strategy, strategic business initiatives, and talent management including succession planning and mentoring future leaders within the organization. This position demands innovative thinking to identify more efficient and effective service delivery methods, leveraging technology and third-party resources when appropriate.

This role requires a leader with advanced knowledge of hospitality and business management, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to analyze complex information to improve operations. The ideal candidate must be adept at decision-making with general policy guidelines and have the communication skills needed to negotiate, influence, and lead various stakeholders from employees to corporate clients. Physical stamina is also necessary as the role involves moderate physical demands such as mobility, standing, and occasional lifting or climbing. Embracing Sage Hospitality Group's mission and values, the General Manager will be instrumental in guiding Cambria Hotel to new heights in guest satisfaction, associate engagement, financial performance, and market reputation.
