Job Description
Blount Fine Foods is a family-owned and operated manufacturer, marketer, and developer of premium fresh prepared foods. Bringing five generations of culinary passion and expertise, the company is dedicated to delivering restaurant-quality products to families across America. Their offerings include single-serve grab-n-go fresh soups, mac & cheese, and entrees that are available in grocery stores nationwide, as well as for hot bars and restaurants. Known for its commitment to quality and innovation, Blount Fine Foods also specializes in products with specialty certifications including organic, gluten-free, and low sodium, which cater to a variety of dietary needs and preferences. The company prides itself on being a collaborative and engaging team focused on growth, success, and providing satisfying career opportunities for its associates.
This particular role is a second-shift position, operating from 3 PM to 1 AM, and comes with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.00 to $18.45. The position focuses on the efficient and accurate mixing, blending, and cooking of raw ingredients using large volume kettles and mixers. The successful candidate will be a primary processor of finished food-grade products, ensuring product quality through adherence to recipes, ingredient verification, and proper application of HACCP steps to maintain high standards for food safety and quality control. This role involves strict compliance with allergen control protocols, precise operation of processing equipment, and performing preventative maintenance to maintain equipment reliability and efficiency.
The candidate will collaborate closely with Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and the maintenance team to optimize production processes and uphold company standards. Responsibilities include viscosity and sensory testing of batches produced, chart recorder accuracy checks, instrument calibration, magnet inspections, and general upkeep of processing equipment. The candidate should demonstrate good communication skills to work effectively within the department, ensuring the most productive and efficient processing operations possible. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a well-established food manufacturing company where attention to detail and commitment to quality are paramount.
Blount Fine Foods values education and experience, requiring either a one-year certificate from a college or technical school or three to six months of related experience or training. Mathematical skills are important for this role, particularly in measurements, ratios, percentages, and chart interpretations. While HACCP certification is preferred, foundational food safety knowledge is essential for this role. The role promises an environment where continuous learning and collaboration are encouraged as the team works together to create some of the finest food experiences available in the marketplace.
In addition to competitive pay, Blount Fine Foods offers substantial benefits and support programs to its employees, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with company match, paid time off that covers vacation, sick time, and holidays, and an education assistance program. Employees also benefit from life insurance coverage and short-term disability plans, along with discounts on Blount products at company retail locations, making this position a well-rounded opportunity for career growth and personal development within a respected food industry leader.
