The role of Test / Assembler I at Collins Aerospace embodies the company's commitment to quality, precision, and innovation. The Test / Assembler I is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly, testing, and fabrication operations. This task range includes reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering documents, operating hand and electrical tools, maintaining inventory at assigned stations, and conducting quality checks to identify and rectify defects. Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by government regulations
  • High school diploma or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Experience operating hand and electrical tools preferred
  • Capability to perform quality control checks and identify defects
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Willingness to work onsite in Lenexa, Kansas
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires HS diploma or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US or vocational/technical education in related discipline

Job Duties

  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions to ensure accurate assembly
  • Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment efficiently to perform assembly tasks
  • Maintain inventory of product in assigned workstations, ensuring materials are readily available for ongoing operations
  • Perform quality work checks, identify product defects, and accurately record identified defects for corrective action
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products based on engineering specification changes to meet quality standards
  • Adhere to all quality standards and established safety procedures, ensuring compliance and a high standard of work
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, promoting efficiency and safety
  • Lift up to 25 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation, ensuring safe material handling
