Assembly Technician - 3rd Shift Production

This job opportunity is a third shift role operating on a 4/10 work schedule from Monday through Thursday, with work hours beginning at 8:00 PM. There is a 15 percent shift premium associated with this schedule, acknowledging the unique challenges and specialized nature of third shift work. The position entails executing detailed operational processes that include cutting, grinding, fitting, and finishing ablative materials to precise dimensions based on quality specifications. The incumbent will report directly to the Team Leader and is responsible for producing components that strictly conform to applicable blueprints or process router requirements. Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) is mandatory, alongside maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment in line with 6S principles.

Key responsibilities require proficiency in using various tools such as table saws, router tables, handheld grinders, and measurement instruments including tape measures, feeler gauges, depth gauges, and calipers. The role demands basic shop math skills to ensure accurate measurements and the capability to apply bonding agents and prepare surfaces for paint application. Inspecting surfaces both visually and tactually to confirm finishing requirements are met is a critical part of the job.

Candidates must possess demonstrated experience in carpentry, skilled fabrication, or skilled assembly work, coupled with the ability to interpret technical drawings and execute fabrication steps in the correct sequence. The company promotes cross-training on different stations within the assembly area to enhance flexibility and overall productivity. Communication skills are vital for coordinating activities with co-workers and supervisors effectively.

Physically, the role requires stamina to stand, walk, reach overhead, bend, and exert varying degrees of force on occasion, frequently, or constantly. Employees will be required to wear full personal protective equipment including Tyvek suits, gloves, and safety glasses, and must successfully pass baseline respiratory testing to operate air-supplied hoods safely. Forklift and crane operation certification, visual acuity for reading detailed gauges and blueprints, and accommodations for hearing are essential.
