We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our Indianapolis, Indiana team. This is a full-time position with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm. The Assembly Technician role is instrumental in assembling both standard instrumentation and custom integrated systems produced by Pfeiffer Vacuum. This role demands an individual who is skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, executing assembly processes with precision, and incorporating changes efficiently during the build process.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, creative problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. In addition to assembling equipment and machines following engineering drawings, the Assembly Technician will perform basic wiring tasks, troubleshoot potential issues during assembly, and collaborate closely with the engineering team to suggest or implement design improvements. Responsibilities also include reading and understanding electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, testing assembled units for functionality, and documenting any modifications.

This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in a related assembly role, alongside strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight and frequently changing deadlines. Candidates should be comfortable managing competing priorities, working independently or as part of a team, and maintaining high standards in quality and safety. Job Requirements

  • must have high school diploma or ged
  • ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • must pass respirator fit test (annual retesting required)
  • must be willing to maintain facial hair to a minimum for respirator fitment
  • must be willing and able to utilize all required ppe
  • must be able to read, write and speak english fluently
  • must be eligible to work in the us without company sponsorship

Job Duties

  • assemble equipment and machines using engineering drawings
