L3Harris is currently seeking a skilled Assembly C (ASSC) professional to join their team in Norfolk, VA. This full-time position, with a schedule of 5-40 hours per week, offers an engaging role within a company that prioritizes employee development and mission excellence. The Assembly C role involves manufacturing, fabricating, testing, and assembling various cable assemblies, primarily working with copper and fiber optic pathways. Employees in this role rely on detailed technical drawings, datasheets, and processes to complete their tasks with precision and quality.

The assembler will handle a variety of tasks including kitting cable and connector parts, cutting cables to specific lengths, terminating fiber optic cables, polishing fiber ferrules using machine methods, and conducting rigorous testing procedures to ensure compliance with industry and military standards. Testing encompasses techniques such as measuring insertion loss, return loss, and troubleshooting with optical time domain reflectometers. Additionally, the role requires performing visual inspections using Fiber Optic Visual Inspection Systems (FOVIS) and end-face inspection with an Interferometer to ensure fiber optic terminations meet strict performance criteria.

L3Harris emphasizes quality control in every aspect of the assembly process with employees expected to maintain accurate and detailed records of test data, perform consistent quality checks, and operate cable analyzers for high-pot (Hipot) testing.
