The Assembly A position at L3Harris, located in Tempe, Arizona, offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in electronic and electro-mechanical assembly operations. This role involves performing a variety of skilled tasks, including hand work and using automated production equipment to assemble critical components. Assembly A team members are responsible for interpreting technical documents such as blueprints and specification sheets, performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing with precision and adherence to strict tolerances. Working in a cleanroom environment, employees follow established protocols and utilize personal protective equipment to handle hazardous materials and chemicals safely. They also maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with safety standards such as OSHA and environmental regulations.

This is a full-time role scheduled under a 9/80 work system, which means employees work nine days out of every fourteen, totaling eighty hours, and enjoy every other Friday off. Job Duties

  • Work in a cleanroom environment and adhere to cleanroom protocols
  • use personal protective equipment as required, including gloves, goggles, face shields, and chemical aprons
  • prepare and handle various chemicals, including acids and solvents, according to standard operating procedures
  • measure, mix, and process materials accurately to achieve specified chemical compositions
  • follow all safety guidelines and procedures to handle hazardous materials safely
  • ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA and environmental standards
  • operate chemical benches and other related equipment efficiently and safely
  • perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • maintain accurate records of material usage, processing conditions, and product output
  • complete required documentation for batch records, safety logs, and inventory tracking
  • identify and correct non-conforming parts following documented procedures
  • meet manufacturing output requirements while producing high quality products
  • ability to work alone and with others in a team environment under minimal supervision to accomplish department goals
  • have strong problem solving, analytical skills, adaptability, and flexibility
  • have good computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry, email)
  • ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • be able to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance through L3Harris upon hire
  • prior experience operating chemical equipment and chemical handling
