The Assembler/Packer role at Camfil is based in Riverdale, NJ, and is crucial to the production process. This position focuses on assembling components according to approved engineering drawings and skillfully packing filters while upholding the company’s stringent quality and safety standards. The role demands a high level of attention to detail to ensure that all products meet the established specifications and are free of defects. Operating within a fast-paced production environment requires the Assembler/Packer to maintain precise process cycle times and adapt to varying workloads efficiently. Employees in this role are expected to work standing for the entire shift and be flexible with overtime when necessary. Cross-training across different production areas is emphasized to support the dynamic needs of the business.

Key responsibilities include following assembly instructions accurately, inspecting finished products for quality assurance, operating production machinery such as pleater machines to check slab sizes, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of stable work history
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports
  • Ability to speak English effectively to management and employees of organization
  • Basic math skills including use of measuring tape, multiplication of whole numbers, use of a calculator, and working with fractions
  • Must be able to stand and walk for continuous periods of 4 hours
  • Must be able to handle product and reach with hands and arms repetitively throughout the shift
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Basic math skills including use of measuring tape, multiplication of whole numbers, use of a calculator, and working with fractions

Job Duties

  • Follow basic assembly/packing instructions, processes and procedures
  • Maintain process cycle time to keep pace with established standards
  • Consistently assemble / pack throughout work shift
  • Visually inspect filters for any defects
  • Be willing to work on their feet for the entire shift
  • Report any issues, malfunction or defective parts to Group Leader
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Be willing to cross train and work in all production areas based on the needs of the business
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Daily/weekly availability for overtime
  • Cross-train in other positions within the facility based on business needs
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Operate Pleater machine checking for correct slab size and quality
  • Operate production machinery
  • Support production assembly as needed
