The role of Assembler-Potter (Union) at L3Harris, located in Bristol, Pennsylvania, is a critical position within the manufacturing team. This role involves performing staking, masking, and conformal coating applications on electronic assemblies in a high-reliability environment, requiring meticulous attention to detail and manual dexterity. Operating on a 9/80 work schedule, this position demands expertise in handling specialized hand tools such as torque screwdrivers, dispensing equipment, and spray guns, as well as proficiency in various masking techniques. The role also includes documenting assembly records accurately, performing engineering changes or repairs as directed, and closely collaborating with quality representatives and engineers to maintain the highest possible product quality. The Assembler-Potter must ensure compliance with safety, ESD, and housekeeping standards, demonstrating a strong commitment to workplace ethics and policies.

This position requires the ability to follow detailed assembly sequences, visually inspect work—both self and others—and assist or train fellow employees when needed. Basic personal computer skills are necessary for documentation and timesheet preparation. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience in electronics manufacturing environment and ruggedization
  • One year experience in application of conformal coating, potting compounds and adhesives to electronic units
  • U.S. citizenship required with ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs, work instructions, travelers, blueprints, routers, and engineering change notices
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions
  • IPC-610 certification class III preferred
  • J-STD-001 certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with the application of conformal coating, potting compounds and adhesives to electronic units IAW documented processes/instructions
  • Perform necessary engineering changes, modifications, and/or repairs as directed
  • Use specialized hand tools such as torque screwdrivers, dispensing equipment, spray guns, and various masking techniques
  • Generate detailed assembly records documenting actions taken
  • Accurately record labor
  • Follow travelers depicting assembly sequences
  • Interface with quality representatives, manufacturing engineers, and/or customer representatives to ensure the highest possible quality of product
  • Visually inspect work previously performed by others and self
  • Maintain compliance with established ESD, housekeeping quality and safe work environment requirements and company and site ethics and attendance policies
  • Train and/or assist other employees as required
  • Perform other duties as directed within scope of role
