The Assembler I/II (transducers) position at Crane Aerospace & Electronics is an entry to mid-level role focused on assembling aerospace products following stringent military and industry standards. Reporting to senior personnel, the assembler is responsible for performing assigned assembly tasks while utilizing various visual aids and instructions. This position requires close attention to detail, proficiency in handling components, and adherence to safety procedures. The role supports Crane Business System initiatives, including 5S, key performance indicators (KPIs), standard work protocols, and problem-solving strategies, making it a critical part of the overall manufacturing operation. Employees in this position must be flexible, willing to work overtime as needed, and participate in continuous improvement efforts. Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 0-3 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
- Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception
- Ability to interpret production or engineering prints and assembly aids
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- US person eligibility for ITAR compliance
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime
- Ability to follow documentation and safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 0-3 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in reading comprehension of work-related documents
- Basic computer skills
- Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception
- Manipulative skills including finger and manual dexterity
- Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness
- Ability to interpret production or engineering prints and assembly aids
- Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced, high volume setting
- IPC soldering certification (preferred)
- Hand crimping experience (preferred)
Job Duties
- Perform assigned assembly tasks
- Prepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing established operations within assigned area processes
- Ensure all paperwork is completed appropriately
- Set up and operate assigned equipment and machinery
- Observe proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals
- Identify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty affecting work quality
- Participate in cleaning area and machinery and in team improvement meetings
- Complete job-related company training courses as assigned
- Support Crane Business System initiatives including 5S, KPIs, Standard Work, and Problem Solving
- Be flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
- Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management
- Follow all required documentation and work instructions
