The current opportunity is for an Assembler II position at Badger Meter's Racine facility located at 8635 Washington Avenue, Mt Pleasant, WI. This is a full-time, third shift role (11:00 pm - 7:30 am, Sunday through Thursday) starting at $20 per hour. The assembler plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by assembling parts according to detailed work instructions and drawings, often performing critical component assemblies. The role requires flexibility as the assembler may rotate through various assembly tasks throughout the facility. Key responsibilities include using various hand, battery, electric, and pneumatic tools; operating laser etchers and engravers; utilizing production systems and printing software to fulfill customer orders; and actively contributing to continuous improvement efforts relating to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Additionally, the position involves training department colleagues and maintaining clean, safe, and efficient workplaces through the application of 5S and lean manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate will have a high school degree or GED, plus three or more years of assembly or manufacturing experience. The role demands good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina, with the ability to lift up to 60 pounds depending on the department, and compliance with vision and audiogram tests where applicable.
