Job Description

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is a key part of Eaton Corporation, a global technology leader in power management solutions. Eaton provides energy-efficient solutions that help customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical power more reliably, efficiently, safely, and sustainably. The ES GEIS BLD division focuses on delivering high-quality components and systems primarily for industrial and infrastructure applications, specializing in cable tray assembly and related products. Located in Reno, NV, this facility supports the production of cable trays and their components, serving industries that rely on robust electrical distribution systems. Eaton is renowned for fostering a collaborative work environment and offering extensive career growth opportunities alongside comprehensive benefit programs.

The Assembler II position in the ES GEIS BLD division is a pivotal role within the Cable Tray department. This role operates on the first shift, with core working hours from 6:15 AM to 2:30 PM. The hourly wage for this full-time position is $22.73, reflecting Eaton's commitment to competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. The Assembler II is responsible for supporting welders by preparing materials and assembling cable tray ladders. This involves frequent handling of materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds, requiring both physical endurance and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include performing simple repetitive assembly tasks using hand tools, bolts, screws, clips, and other fastening devices. The assembler works primarily under close supervision and uses models, samples, or simple diagrams to guide assembly processes. The role demands adherence to strict safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements, as well as contributing to continuous improvement initiatives such as 5-S workplace organization and Lean manufacturing practices. The Assembler II actively participates in sustaining visual management tools and Kaizen events to improve workflow and efficiency on the shop floor.

Success in this position requires consistent physical ability to lift heavy parts, stand throughout a shift, and execute repetitive hand manipulation tasks. The work environment can expose employees to high noise levels, heavy machinery traffic, oils, lubricants, solvents, and variable temperature conditions due to open roll-up doors. Despite these challenges, Eaton provides a safe and supportive workplace culture emphasizing employee health and safety.

Candidates interested in this role should reside within 50 miles of the Reno location as relocation assistance is not provided. Eaton does not sponsor employment immigration for this position, which is an important consideration for applicants. The company values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment and supports second chance hiring practices. Overall, this role is ideal for someone with a background or interest in manufacturing environments, particularly with experience in assembly tasks, reading blueprints, and operating forming or bending machines. Eaton’s extensive benefit package offers comprehensive health coverage from day one, retirement plans, paid parental leave, educational assistance, and wellness reimbursements, creating a balanced workplace where employees can thrive both professionally and personally.
