Job Description
Arktura LLC, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, is a dynamic and innovative company immersed in the design, development, and manufacturing of architectural facade systems, interior wall and ceiling systems, and custom art installations. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, within a state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot facility, Arktura supports creativity and expert knowledge through a multidisciplinary team that includes architects, designers, engineers, programmers, and artists. This talented team collaborates to bridge the gap between creative design intent and manufacturing reality by leveraging proprietary software and machinery that meet evolving project needs. The company's robust culture emphasizes supportive collaboration, professional growth, and community involvement, creating a workplace that feels both like a large company and a close-knit community. Employee benefits at Arktura include a 401(k) plan with an employee match, comprehensive health care options, paid time off, professional development opportunities, casual dress code, free snacks, and regular company events. Arktura also participates actively in community service and offers voluntary benefits like legal services, insurance options, and childcare discounts through LifeMart. The company champions inclusion through Employee Resource Groups that connect individuals with common interests and perspectives.
Working at Arktura means becoming an essential part of a team where individuals are recognized for their contributions towards the future of Armstrong World Industries. The company fosters a culture of trust, integrity, and innovation backed by more than 160 years of experience in the commercial and residential interior solutions industry. Workforce diversity and the commitment to sustainability underpin the company’s mission to design and build spaces that enhance the wellbeing of occupants and respect the planet. Located in Carson, California, Arktura enjoys a strategic position within a thriving, diverse community with superb access to transportation and ample recreational facilities.
The Production Associate position at Arktura is a full-time, entry-level role based out of Carson, California, offering an hourly wage starting at $20.00. This role reports to the Production Supervisor and works closely with senior associates within the felt value stream. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly of high-quality architectural systems spanning standard, adaptive, and lighting product lines. Key duties include performing transactions in the company’s Shop-Trak system to update project statuses; collecting parts and supplies for assembly and packing; employing hand tooling to maintain quality and safety standards; collaborating to identify product defects and perform necessary repairs; coordinating the movement of assembled products through production; preparing products for shipment; and managing materials receipt and storage. The job requires adherence to safety protocols and maintenance of work areas and equipment.
Physical demands include frequent walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with occasional heavier loads handled via mechanical equipment. The work environment spans a manufacturing facility where conditions may include dust, heat, noise, and irregular walking surfaces, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, earplugs, and steel-toe boots.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their manufacturing skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment, supported by a company that values professional growth, diversity, and workplace inclusiveness. Candidates with a high school diploma or GED, basic arithmetic skills, proficiency with personal computers, and a willingness to work in variable conditions are encouraged to apply. Relevant certifications such as Cal OSHA 10, forklift operation, and CPR are advantageous but not mandatory. Arktura’s commitment to equal opportunity employment ensures all qualified applicants will be considered regardless of background, with accommodations available for applicants with disabilities.
