The Optical Assembly Technician 1 role at IDEX Materials Science Solutions is a critical entry-level position within the optical manufacturing team, focused on foundational optical manufacturing processes. This position works primarily in a controlled clean-room environment adhering to stringent contamination-control and quality standards. The technician’s responsibilities include part preparation, cleaning, inspection, incoming measurements, and executing assembly tasks that rely on mechanical features for optical positioning rather than active alignment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow established procedures accurately to ensure high-quality output.

This role operates on a B-Shift or 2nd Shift schedule, from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, supporting continuous manufacturing operations. Applicants should be aware of ITAR/EAR criteria, as some positions within IDEX may require access to controlled goods and technologies, requiring U.S. citizenship or related status. The compensation for this role ranges from $33,300 to $49,900 annually, depending on experience, and includes eligibility for a performance-based bonus plan.
