Job Description

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is a specialized segment of Eaton Corporation, a global power management company headquartered in the United States. Eaton is renowned for its innovative solutions that help customers manage electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical power more efficiently, safely, and sustainably. The ES GEIS BLD division focuses on seismic-related products and assemblies, contributing to the safety and resilience of infrastructure in areas prone to seismic activities. Eaton's commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and employee development makes it a sought-after employer in the manufacturing sector.

The Assembler I (1st Shift) - Seismic role at Eaton represents an entry-level position designed for individuals who want to start or grow their career in manufacturing and assembly. This role operates on the first shift with core hours from 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM. The position offers an hourly wage of $20.47, which reflects not only the responsibilities involved but also Eaton’s effort to provide competitive compensation that rewards skills and performance. This opportunity is ideal for candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Reno, Nevada, as the company is not offering relocation benefits for this role.

In this role, the assembler will be involved in the simple and repetitive bench assembly of parts and components, which may include using fasteners such as bolts and screws. The work is performed under close supervision, often using models, samples, or simple diagrams, providing a clear and structured environment for those developing their assembly skills. The assembler also plays a crucial part in supporting facility-wide Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives, including maintaining 5-S standards (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain), using visual management tools like layered audits and OEE boards, and actively participating in Kaizen events. These activities align with Eaton's philosophy of fostering efficiency, quality, and safety across its operations.

While the primary duties focus on assembly, employees are also expected to pick, pack, and pull orders accurately and support a clean and safe working environment. Troubleshooting and resolving minor problems as they arise is part of the daily responsibilities, ensuring production flows smoothly. The assembler’s role requires physical stamina, including standing throughout the shift and lifting up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasional exposure to noisy and high-traffic environments with forklift activity, as well as variable temperature conditions.

Eaton values inclusivity and equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, age, disability status, or any other protected category. The company is also a proponent of second chance employment, which means qualified candidates with arrest or conviction histories are considered fairly. Accommodation requests related to disabilities are welcomed and supported throughout the recruitment process.

Working at Eaton offers more than just a paycheck. Employees benefit from flexible work options designed to support work-life balance, comprehensive healthcare and retirement savings programs, tuition assistance for continued education, and opportunities for career growth. The company’s support extends to wellness programs, dental, vision coverage, and donation matching initiatives, providing a well-rounded benefits package aimed at employee well-being.

Overall, the Assembler I position at Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is an excellent entry point for motivated individuals interested in joining a reputable, forward-thinking manufacturing environment. With competitive pay, emphasis on continuous improvement, and a supportive workplace culture, this role provides a strong foundation for career progression in the power management and seismic safety industries.
