The CPDI OPS Operations division of Eaton focuses on the assembly, testing, and completion of sophisticated electrical components and systems that support critical infrastructure such as Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS). The Assembler I role at Eaton offers a full-time, 40-hour work week on the 1st shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday. The position offers competitive hourly pay at $18.50 per hour. Assembler I will be responsible for building sub-assemblies and complete assemblies involving complex and repetitive wiring for UPS products. In this operational role, the Assembler I will perform essential visual inspections to verify material quality at various stages of assembly. They will utilize a variety of tools such as hand tools, power tools, gauges, and assembly fixtures to accurately put together electrical products. Additionally, the Assembler is expected to maintain the highest quality standards by inspecting finished assemblies and making necessary adjustments to meet plant quality criteria. Environmental, health, and safety protocols must be strictly followed at all times to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the Raleigh plant or be an active duty military service member
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime and flex to different areas or plants
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to distinguish colored wiring
  • Ability to stand for extended periods with repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Previous experience with standard operating procedures preferred
  • Previous experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance and/or repair preferred
  • Soldering experience preferred
  • Basic working knowledge and experience with computers preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures in a manufacturing facility
  • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work overtime and flex to different areas or plants as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to distinguish colored wiring
  • Ability to stand for extended periods with repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting

Job Duties

  • Build sub-assemblies and assemblies using standard operating procedures
  • Perform visual inspections of materials before and after assembly
  • Use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust or repair products
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and make necessary adjustments
  • Adhere to environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations
  • Provide process and safety improvement ideas
  • Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties using 5S+ principles
