This position involves assembling commercial refrigeration appliances, which are critical components in food retailing and commercial environments. Job Duties
- assemble commercial refrigeration appliances using hand-tools
- obtain specified parts or sub-assemblies
- align holes, insert screws or bolts, and tighten them using nut runner or power screwdriver
- bolt sub-assemblies such as motors, pumps, control panels, blowers, heating units, and doors using wrenches and power nut runners
- align doors, brackets, racks, and moving parts before tightening to achieve proper appearance, fit, and movement
- pack or fold insulation between panels
- connect electrical wires on control panel to motors, heating units, or blowers according to color and length of wire
- lubricate moving parts using grease paddle or oil can
- place panels in fixture to align for bolting
- clamp test wires to machine and observe meter and light to test for shorts, grounds, and wattage
