Job Description
PSG is a global leader in the pump, metering, and dispensing solutions industry, dedicated to enabling the safe and efficient transfer of critical and valuable fluids in applications that demand the highest levels of performance and reliability. Headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, USA, PSG operates several world-class brands including Abaque, All-Flo, Almatec, Blackmer, Ebsray, em-tec, Griswold, Hydro, Malema, Mouvex, Neptune, PSG Biotech, Quantex, Quattroflow, and Wilden. Manufacturing spans three continents—North America, Europe, and Asia—in state-of-the-art facilities that adhere to lean manufacturing practices and hold ISO certifications. As part of the Pumps and Process Solutions segment of Dover Corporation, a diversified global manufacturer and solutions provider with annual revenues exceeding 7 billion dollars, PSG benefits from the scale, expertise, and innovative spirit that Dover fosters across its five operating segments.
The company culture at PSG blends the advantages of a small company atmosphere with the resources of a large multinational corporation. This creates an environment where employees have an ownership mindset, the ability to make decisions close to the customer, and the entrepreneurial freedom to explore new opportunities. PSG is committed to continuous improvement and innovation, offering exceptional career growth in a fast-paced, friendly setting.
The assembler role at PSG plays a crucial part within the assembly department, focusing on value-added processes related to pump builds. This position involves the final assembly of pumps, encompassing tasks such as kitting, sub-assembly, testing of finished goods, and the preparation of products for shipment, including boxing and palletizing. The work is performed onsite with a strong emphasis on adherence to quality assurance standards and company policies to maintain safety and product integrity. The role offers a competitive pay rate of $20.00 per hour and includes eligibility for discretionary bonuses based on performance metrics and company criteria.
This position is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined and eager to develop hands-on assembly skills. Prior product assembly experience is not required, creating an accessible opportunity for candidates willing to learn and demonstrate versatility within production activities. Experience with air and hand tools, along with familiarity with packaging and palletizing processes, is advantageous to support the assembly workflow efficiently. The assembler is expected to work in a standing environment, capable of handling flexible work hours and extended shifts as necessary to meet production demands.
Working as part of the PSG team means committing to safety and continuous improvement principles. The assembler must execute production cell tasks according to standard work instructions, conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, perform hydro-tests with thorough documentation, and maintain accurate inventory management through Oracle software. The role demands attention to detail, communication with supervisors, and an ability to prioritize assignments set by team leads while fostering a clean and safe workspace. As part of the company’s lean manufacturing initiative, employees are encouraged to engage in practices that eliminate waste and support operational excellence.
The company’s benefits package is comprehensive and supports employee wellness and work-life balance. PSG provides medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, 401(k) savings plans with employer contributions, disability insurance, life and accident insurance, flexible spending accounts, and wellness programs. Additional benefits include paid time off with holidays and vacation accrual, parental leave, tuition assistance, employee discounts, and an employee assistance program that covers counseling and legal services. The inclusive and equitable workplace at PSG encourages diversity and equal opportunity, offering reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities to ensure a seamless hiring process.
Joining PSG as an assembler offers a unique gateway into the manufacturing and operations sector within a company that values innovation, quality, and employee development. Candidates who thrive in a collaborative environment, take pride in the quality of their work, and seek to contribute meaningfully to the company’s mission of delivering reliable fluid management solutions will find rewarding opportunities for growth. This role is an excellent starting point for those interested in advancing within the manufacturing field or pursuing specialized equipment assembly expertise.
