The role of Assembler 2 at Safran is a permanent, full-time position situated in Garden Grove, California. This mid-level manufacturing assembly and repair role is crucial in the production of aircraft interior structures and sub-assemblies, which include components like bins, galleys, lavatories, sidewalls, and cargo liners. The assembler will adhere strictly to engineering drawings, company standards, and customer specifications to ensure the highest quality of production. This role requires assembling and building sub-components, operating pneumatic tools and machinery safely, and maintaining clean and organized workspaces throughout the shift. The incumbent will document materials used during processes to maintain traceability and quality control. This position requires the ability to adapt to changes in production needs, working across different workstations and handling essential tasks as assigned. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- More than 5 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly
- Fluency in English
- Ability to understand and use work orders
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing preferred
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Sensitivity to safety regulations and requirements
- Ability to self-inspect work and correct discrepancies in a timely manner
- Experience operating basic machinery and pneumatic/hand tools
- Ability to adapt to changing business conditions
- Willingness to work protracted or irregular hours
- May require travel and relocation to other Safran facilities
- ITAR controlled position requiring U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 4-5 years of experience in assembly or manufacturing
- Solid working knowledge of aerospace manufacturing principles
- Ability to read and write English comprehensively
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Sensitivity to safety regulations
- Ability to self-inspect work and correct discrepancies
- Experience operating basic machinery and pneumatic/hand tools
- Meets or exceeds current training requirements
- Ability to read engineering blueprints
- Previous aerospace manufacturing experience
Job Duties
- Assembles aircraft interior structures and/or parts such as bins, galleys, lavatories, sidewalls, cargo liners, etc.
- Builds sub-assemblies for the completion of aircraft interior structures and/or parts using engineering drawings, company and customer specifications
- Adheres to company and customer specifications, work instructions, engineering prints and work orders
- Documents materials used in each process to maintain traceability
- Reacts productively to change and handles other essential tasks as assigned, may work at different workstations as production needs require
- Builds sub-assemblies of aircraft components including forming aluminum trim extrusions and fiberglass laminates
- Installs inserts, applies edging material, and assembles subcomponents for structures/units
- Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment during and after production
- Carefully and safely handles raw material and manufactured parts to ensure quality
- Protects and maintains confidentiality of company products
