Job Description

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division, part of the global power management company Eaton Corporation, is currently seeking a dedicated Assembler for the 1st Shift (Packaging) at their Reno, NV facility. Eaton is a multinational company known for delivering energy-efficient solutions that help customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical power. This division focuses on assembling high-quality components that contribute to Eaton’s mission of improving the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies.

The role of the Assembler is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the assembly process within the packaging area of the facility. The position operates primarily during the core hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the possibility of mandatory overtime exceeding these hours. The hourly wage for this opportunity is $19.82, reflecting a competitive rate based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

In this function, the assembler performs simple repetitive bench assembly tasks, working with various fastening devices such as bolts, screws, and clips. The work is typically performed under close supervision, utilizing models, samples, or simple diagrams to complete tasks. Additional responsibilities include picking, packing, and pulling orders efficiently and accurately, maintaining cleanliness and safety in work areas, and troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise. Assemblers are expected to support facility-wide Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives, which emphasize waste reduction and efficiency. This includes maintaining 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) practices, tracking visual management tools like layered audits and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and actively participating in Kaizen events aimed at improving operational processes.

Eaton emphasizes a safe and inclusive work environment, offering health benefits effective from day one, and a broad range of additional benefits including retirement benefits, paid parental leave, educational assistance programs, and wellness reimbursements. The company values diversity and provides equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, or any other protected status. They are also committed to second-chance employment, considering qualified applicants with arrest or conviction histories in accordance with local laws.

Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV unless they are active-duty military service members, as relocation benefits are not offered for this position. Additionally, Eaton will not sponsor employment immigration visas for this role. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 35 pounds regularly, and exposure to high noise and traffic areas with required personal protective equipment. This role demands fine motor skills and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Overall, this position is ideal for applicants seeking a stable role within a reputable company committed to employee development, safety, and continuous improvement.
